An Ipswich and online based Personal Trainer, and Senior Lecturer at the University of Suffolk, I am a specialist in cancer rehabilitation and exercise for health conditions including high blood pressure, osteoporosis, diabetes, anxiety and depression.

Welcome! My name is Richard Farrar, owner of Move More For Health. Embarking on a fitness journey is a personal and sometimes very challenging endeavour. I take pride in offering a caring and empathetic approach that recognises the unique challenges faced by people who are new to exercise or navigating health concerns, as well as those who are more experienced.  My aim is not just to design workout routines, but to provide unwavering support and understanding throughout your entire fitness experience.

You might be someone who is looking to get fitter, healthier and happier, but maybe a bit uncertain as to what the best form of exercise is for you.  You may have a health condition such as hypertension, osteoporosis, diabetes, and anxiety.  You might be going through cancer treatment, or recovering from cancer.  I use exercise and health coaching to help you improve your fitness, manage and reduce your symptoms, and help you feel happier, healthier and more in control.    

 

Movement Medicine

Movement and exercise are enormous, often untapped, resources for making us feel better.

Exercise can prevent ill health, help us manage symptoms and be a powerful tool in recovery. Evidence shows that exercise can successfully be used to help people living with and beyond cancer, for example in reducing the symptoms associated with treatment, and to manage and improve many conditions including heart disease, obesity, diabetes and poor mental health.

However, for many people regular exercise can be a difficult goal to achieve and maintain due to lack of knowledge, time and confidence, negative experiences of past exercise, low motivation, and other commitments getting in the way. I can support you in leading a fitter and healthier lifestyle in a way that meets your needs.
